It was a big milestone for our Tassie project this last week. Amongst the chaos of Cyclone Alfred in Brisbane our Development Application was submitted to Sorell Council for 5 Fynbos Court!
As always it took longer than expected, with lots of calls and discussion on various aspects of the design. Rob from Another Perspective was great to work with, as we worked through a lot of little things and also had discussion about the living area clerestory roof’s structure. We had to send that for engineering input to our chosen engineers (Noe Escobar and Leigh Saltmarsh). They validated that it’s feasible (in either timber LVL or steel), the design was quickly finalised and Another Perspective sent it off to Sorell Council on Friday 7th March.
The DA includes:
- Bushfire hazard report
- Wastewater assessment
- Stormwater assessment
- Natural values assessment (environmental study)
- Title information (ownership details)
We’ve now got a new saying – whenever we talk to anyone new about the project, they want $3,000… 😂
Sorell Council have a target timeframe of up to 42 days to review, advertise and (hopefully!) approve, which ends on 11th April.
Once that is done, it is on to the next stages – more detailed design, engineering assessment, energy assessment, etc.
