Installed Windows 7 RTM the other day. First impressions – I like it. Clean, fast, a big improvement on Vista in several areas. I like the less obtrusive UAC (you could get Vista to do the same, but this is a good compromise out of the box).
A few things are going to take a little getting used to – I like Libraries though, that’s a good idea.
Media Center looks good – interface changes are effective. Most hardware just worked out of the box, although I have installed ‘proper’ drivers from ATI, Realtek, etc. My TV card I have still had to run on XP drivers though.
Didn’t take long to get it up and running with all my apps either (clean install not upgrade). So far so good! It’s what Vista should have been…
